This is a series of photos that are dedicated to everything moody, created from blurry shots from incorrect shutter speeds and shot instability, using the wrong settings in low light conditions, and what I perceived to be bad composition.
This one I’m pretty sure I took in San Francisco although can’t confirm that because i couldn’t get the shutter speed right.

I went to Copenhagen with my sister Tani for my 25th birthday, and I was still trying to experiment with low light photography and different shutter speeds. I think this one actually came out alright though. Its as though someone painted it. I never noticed it before though, I could only see that it didn’t come out exactly how I wanted it to.

Pretty self-explanatory, I attempted to take shots in extremely low light conditions, but I struggled to adjust my settings properly to achieve the desired outcome. The shot came out so moody and mysterious though even with the lack of clarity, which added to the overall effect. And it features Yasin Bey, making it that much sweeter.

Same as the one before, shooting a moving target in low light is tough, and I couldn’t get my settings right for it to come out crisp. Janelle Monae actually came into the crowd this show which was cool.

Something about this composition has always felt slightly awkward to me. The space on the bench, the fact that the guy isn’t sat directly in the middle of the bench, the empty space above him. But that awkwardness grew on me.

Another one of those moving targets in low light conditions. But who cares? Its Alicia Keys.

Again, there was something peculiar about this particular composition that threw me off for a while. However, in the end, the expansive sky above this guy really enhances the overall scene and makes him look incredibly iconic. King of Patterns.

It’s quite funny, really; when I look at this photo now, it seems hard to understand why I was ever dissatisfied with it. I can’t see anything wrong with it at all. However, when I first took the picture, I had this feeling that it was flat and uninteresting. But now, with fresh eyes, I truly appreciate how everything in the composition just works harmoniously together. This photo was taken on a beach in Tenerife.

Mansur Brown absolutely killing it with his guitar on stage. I always wished I got the entire guitar in shot, but this was the best I could really do.

Andre 3000 and that dame flute. He had no lights on stage and I legit could not get a clear shot of him, this was the best I could get.

I love and hate this shot so much. The way she is looking up, the lights falling around her, its all so perfect. Apart from that damn mug. In my head it ruined the shot, but it’s grown on me massively through this whole process, like God is pouring awesomeness in it for her to drink later.

I was in this beautiful coffee place near Al Duomo in Florence buying a pastry and they had just served up these perfect looking coffees. And everything looked perfect. The lighting was hitting, the coffees piping hot, the beautiful florentine sandwiches lined up in the display below, everything was just lining up perfectly so I tried to take the shot. Last minute the waiter came into frame.
